Hi all,
I know having a podcast software client is necessary for subscribing to podcasts, but my drive space is really low, about 400 mb or so. I was wondering, could I pick a podcast that might be interesting, download it, and then use winamp to listen to it? There was a link on some of them to download each file individually, so I was wondering if this could be done. I know blind cool tech had a download link for each podcast, and so did most of the links in podcast alley, but some had a link to post in your ipodder. I'm not interested in storing music, or even doing my own podcast. If I can get a new computer, maybe I'll download ipodder, and look for some podcasts to subscribe to, but I just can't right now, not on this computer. I might could download one at a time, especially if the file wasn't too large, and delete it as soon as I'd listened to it, so I could get some of my space back. So can I pick the podcast I want, and just download it to my hard drive, then listen to it with winamp? Wow, I didn't realize how many podcasts there were, in lots of categories. I was hoping to find a podcast devoted to cbs soaps, but oh well, guess you can't have everything. I even came across one podcast on podcast alley, which was done by an airplane pilot, who takes his recorder on trips, and people who listen get to hear what goes on in the cockpit of an airplane. Sounds interesting,

In short, yes you can. Just download whatever file you like, listen with Winamp and delete it afterwords. You'll have to keep going back to each podcast's site, but yes you can do this.
thanks tunehead, that'll be the long way around I know, but it's a way to get the podcast listening experience, and hear what it's all about. It seems to be very popular right now.
